Jo joined Skills Active as the education evaluator and researcher in 2022. Her background is in adult education and her interest in evaluation began because she wanted to learn more about how effectively learning solutions were meeting objectives. Whilst working as a senior advisor for New Zealand Defence College, Jo studied part time for a post-graduate diploma in Social Sector Research and Evaluation. She has also worked as a performance auditor and principal advisor, Research within a government organisation.

Jo has lived in Aotearoa for 17 years after emigrating from the UK in 2005 and now calls Pinehaven home. Outside of work, Jo enjoys travelling, playing acoustic music with a few local musicians, the arts generally, and walking a very energetic young border collie.
