Skills Active Te Mahi Ako secures NZQA registration
With registration comes the full approval of Skills Active's transition plan by the Tertiary Education Commission, meaning Te Mahi Ako has now officially crossed all its regulatory hurdles.
"We are excited to share more about the new organisation as we move forward with certainty," says interim Te Mahi Ako chief executive Maren Frerichs.
"We are planning a seamless transition for all learners, clients and stakeholders, and we'll be keeping them abreast of everything they need to know, as we head towards our start date.
"I also want to note that the requirements for these TEC and NZQA approvals were a very high bar.
"Our team put in a huge amount of work to provide all of the evidence to our regulators, covering our academic credentials, programme content, learner focus, and financial position. I'm really proud of all our kaimahi who contributed to such a successful establishment process.
"Now we have met that bar, we can forge on with launch plans in time for our October 1 start date. There's still plenty of work to do, but we're on track.
"Finally, we couldn't have done this without our shareholders, key stakeholders, and all our clients and learners. Our thanks go out to them for supporting us along this journey so far. Together, we have steered a course of action that will preserve independent and dedicated vocational services for te ahumahi ā-rēhia, the sectors that we all care so much about."
