Te Tiriti, te mahi, te tangata

We're proud to announce the release of our 2024 Annual Reports for both Te Mahi Ako and Skills Active Aotearoa. These reports offer a transparent and comprehensive look at our achievements, challenges, and the continued impact we’re making in the vocational education and active recreation sectors across Aotearoa.

The 2024 reporting year reflects a period of consolidation, innovation, and partnership as Te Mahi Ako continues to grow as a Private Training Establishment (PTE), following its establishment as a subsidiary of Skills Active Aotearoa. Our annual reports highlight the success of our learners, the strength of our industry relationships, and the commitment of our teams to empower people working in sport, recreation, fitness, and the arts.

Some key highlights from the reports include:

  • Continued growth in enrolments across all industry sectors, with a strong uptake in zero-fee, on-job qualifications

  • Development of new qualifications such as Tikanga, supporting cultural competency in the workplace

  • Strengthened partnerships with employers and industry associations to support workforce development

  • Positive outcomes from audits and evaluations, reinforcing our focus on quality assurance and learner success.

The Skills Active report also outlines our broader strategy as a charitable trust, dedicated to supporting workforce capability and development through advocacy, research, and ongoing investment in our industries.

We invite you to explore both reports to learn more about our mahi, the stories of those we serve, and where we’re heading next.
