Australian aqua fitness icon hits our local shores!
Published Sep 16, 2026
Te Mahi Ako was lucky to catch Marietta Mehanni from Australia delivering an inspiring and practical aqua fitness live workshop at Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Paraparaumu.
The day brought together 20 aqua fitness professionals from across the motu to upskill, share ideas, and experience the latest innovations in aquatic exercise from the guru herself. From energetic pool sessions to valuable networking opportunities, attendees left with fresh ideas, renewed enthusiasm, and practical strategies to take back to their classes.
The event was also a timely reminder of the growing professionalism within the aqua fitness industry. As demand for qualified aqua fitness instructors continues to increase, ongoing learning and recognised qualifications are more important than ever. That's why we're excited that Te Mahi Ako is relaunching the New Zealand Certificate in Aquafitness (Level 3), providing instructors with a nationally recognised pathway to develop their skills, build confidence, and gain industry-recognised credentials.
