New Zealand Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Programme Delivery) (L4)

This programme supports kaimahi who deliver pre-designed sport and community recreation programmes, events and activities under guidance. Completing the Programme Delivery certificate will prepare you to work in programme delivery or coordination roles, and promote an active and healthy population through recreation and sport.

Before you start

To enrol in this programme, you need to be working in the recreation and sport sector, in a paid job, self-employed, or as a volunteer with regular and consistent shifts.

What's involved

This 60-credit qualification is designed to be completed in 8 to 12 months.

You'll be trained and observed in the workplace. Your assessments will be completed online.

Key learning areas include:

  • Planning, delivering and evaluating pre-designed sport and recreation programmes, events or activities to meet target group needs
  • Applying strategies to effectively engage and communicate with diverse individuals and groups
  • Coordinating people, equipment and resources to deliver sport and recreation programmes and respond to issues as they arise.

New Zealand Certificate in Cycle Skills Instruction (L4)

This programme is for people who help cyclists use their bikes confidently and safely.
By completing the Cycle Skills Instruction certificate, you will be equipped to instruct participants in the skills required for riding safely on roads and paths, and you will have specialist knolwedge in one of three electives.
Level 4

New Zealand Certificate in Ngā Taonga Tākaro (L3)

This programme is designed for people actively involved in ngā taonga tākaro, such as: hakariki, kaipara, kī-o-rahi, kuku-mamau, manu pakanga, pipi, ruru-nei, tauronarona, tī-uru, poitoa, matimati or rākau. In completing this progamme you will be having fun while leading, teaching or playing ngā taonga tākaro with whānau, hapū, iwi or other rōpū.
