New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (L3)
This programme is for beginner-level coaches who want to delve deeper into the skills and qualities that make a great coach. Completing the Sport Coaching certificate will give you the skills and knowledge to coach participants at entry level across a range of sports and codes.
Before you start
To enrol in this programme, you need to be working with a sport team or in a sport club or organisation, in a paid job, self-employed, or as a volunteer with regular and consistent shifts.

What's involved
This 40-credit qualification is designed to be completed in 6 to 10 months.
You'll be trained, observed and assessed in the workplace. Some of your assessments will be completed online.

- Knowing yourself and why you are coaching | Ko wai au?
- Knowing your participants | Whakawhānaunga
- Knowing your sport | Mātauranga tākaro
- Being a good sport | Whakamana, manaakitanga me kaitiakitanga
- Health, safety and wellbeing | Hauora
- Planning, running and reflecting on your coaching | Ngā whakaaro, whakamahi me aromatawai.
